London decides to spend $1.1 billion on enhancing Air Quality

London has decided to double the money that is being currently spend on tackling the air pollution. This was officially confirmed by the mayor of the city.
Air pollution is emerging as a serious problem in London. Records states that nearly 9,400 deaths in London has occurred due illness associated with air quality. It has been decided that $1.1 billion would be spent to enhance the quality of air in London.

To tackle the deaths and dangerous hazards caused by air pollution multiple ideas and proposals have been made. Mr.Sadiq Khan "With nearly 10,000 Londoners dying early every year due to air pollution, tackling poor air quality is a public health emergency that requires bold action. I want London to be a world leader in how we respond to the challenge of cleaning up our air".
This announcement is the huge step made by London regarding air pollution control. Last week, it was announced that London would be home to the world's first double decker bus powered by hydrogen.
